Boom! Congratulations to the '01 Explosion Navy who finished as the runner-up in the 14u division of the Dr. K's Breaking out the Bats Spring Tournament held 3/21/15-3/22/15! The '01 Navy battled from an second round loss in bracket play from the '01 Tn. Blast to the Championship Game. In dramatic fashion, down 4-0, the '01 Navy staged a furious come back powered by a 3-run homerun by Skylar Newby to force a deciding if necessary Playoff inning to decide the tournament championship. This was the only loss suffered by the '01 Blast for the tournament. After 2 international innings, the Tn. Blast finally prevailed, winning 3-2! Congratulations to the TN Blast and the '01 Navy Explosion! Great job by the Explosion pitchers Blake Fields, Skylar Newby and Goose Underwood as well as defensive standout Brianna Shoemaker during tournament play! We are all very proud of your efforts by the players and the coaches!!
