The Knoxville Explosion Fastpitch Softball Organization does not charge it's players or their family members for being part of our organization? We are a non-profit entity registered with the IRS and pride ourselves on utilizing volunteer coaches to keep quality travel fastpitch softball as low as possible! 100% of all funds collected and raised for each of it's member teams reside with the team that raises those funds. Our organization expenses are covered by our wonderful sponsors who share our vision of Paying it Forward! Consider this when evaluating spending thousands of dollars to play for your next team!

 
2022 Explosion Team Announces Tryouts for the Fall 2021/Spring 2022 Season PDF Print E-mail

Attention 2022-2024 Graduating Players, the Knoxville Explosion is forming a new 18u competitive team, the 2022 Knoxville Explosion. This is a startup team that will carry 12 players and will be coached by our newest Head Coach, Bradley Logan. Coach Logan comes to the Knoxville Explosion from Oklahoma and is a true independent coach without a player on the team. The team will hold it's second tryout this Sunday, July 25th from 1 pm to 3 pm at Eaton Ruritan Park, 4293 Ruritan Road, Lenior City, TN 37771. All positions are open and everyone will be honestly evaluated for their position on this team. Knoxville Explosion Seeks 2012 Head Coach for Fall 2021/Spring 2022 Season PDF Print E-mail

The Knoxville Explosion Organization is seeking a new Head Coach for the 2012 Explosion (Rising 9u) for the fall 2021 season. Due to family commitments, our current head coach, Angela Johnson is stepping down. We wish her all of the best in future family endeavors and are very grateful for her 2 years of volunteer service!

Candidates (Male or Female) must have softball coaching experience and be able to pass a National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) background check and become a Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) certified double-goal coach. These activities will be paid for by the organization. This is a unpaid, volunteer coaching opportunity to help mold and develop the next generation of fastpitch softball players.

Great day of softball Saturday yesterday came home with 2nd place NSA K Town Showdown. These girls battled hard all day playing 7 games 4-2-1 on the day. Great defense, they hit the ball well and pitching was great!

Knoxville Explosion Welcomes New 2022 Explosion Head Coach Brad Logan PDF Print E-mail

The Knoxville Explosion is proud to announce that we are forming a new High School Age Team and that our Head Coach is Bradley Logan. Coach Logan comes to the Explosion from Oklahoma and has extensive experience as a head coach of High School Players. He is a leader in his business area as the Head of Procurement and Purchasing for Cellular Sales. Check out his Bio and Coaching Philosophy below! Rain Creates Havoc, Explosion Select finish as USA Gold Bracket B Tennessee State Runner-up PDF Print E-mail

Atomic Boom! Congratulations to the Explosion Select who finished as the Runner-up in the 18u Gold Division of the USA Tennessee B State Championship/Wounded Warriors Benefit from 6/25/21-6/27/21. In a rain shortened event, the Select were in the process of playing the Georgia Elite Venom in the Winner's Bracket Final when a torrential rain storm came and flooded the field, essentially ending the tournament. The Select lost the overall runs allowed battle 5-4 to the Elite. Great job Elite and Select, we are very proud of your efforts!
For the tournament, the Select was led by Stacie Mills (.833 BA), Alexis Folts (.714 BA), Olivia Mahoney (.667 BA) and Tori Coffman who hit a huge 3-Run Home Run in the Semi-Final Game against the BC Pride (Southern New York/Northern Pennsylvania). Pitching was led by a no hitter against the Mokena Blast (Chicago, IL) and recorded a total of 24 Ks in 9.1 innings pitched. Great job ladies, we are very proud of you efforts and your continued development!
Also a shoutout to Missy Jones of USA Softball, her support staff and umpires as they did a great job of attracting top teams from all over the US to play in this tournament including (18) 18u teams in older division. We really appreciate your efforts with this tournament!
 
Explosion Select Finishes a Strong 3rd in Milligan Showcase in Johnson City PDF Print E-mail

A big shoutout to the 18u Explosion Select who finished a strong 3rd in a loaded 18u/16u 17-Team Division of the Milligan Showcase held at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, TN on 6/19/21-6/20/21! After finishing pool play 3-0, the Select went 2-1 in Bracket play, eventually losing to an excellent Southern GA Power 3-0. The TN Fury and Southern Power squared off in the Championship game with the Fury winning the overall championship. Great job Fury and Power!
For the tournament, Lillie Cox (3-0) and Tori Coffman (2-1) were outstanding, posting a combined 1.21 Earned Run Average with Tori Coffman notching 23 Ks in 11.1 innings pitched in the circle. Defensively, the Explosion Select was led by outstanding plays from Reese Waltman. The Select Offense was paced by Stacie Mills (.667 batting average) and Alexis Folts (.400) who drilled a game winning 2-RBI single up the middle against the VA Firecrackers as time expired. Overall, this was an excellent effort for the Select, great job ladies we are very proud of you! Keep improving!

Are you frustrated with the lack of programmatic structure, support or tools available to you while you are coaching your team? Are you a dedicated, high character individual who not only wants to teach your players the right way to play competitive travel softball and be an on and off the field mentor? Look no further than the Knoxville Explosion Fastpitch Softball Organization, Knoxville's largest travel softball organization!
Our one of a kind program contains everything you need to take your coaching skills to the next level. We are a pay it forward organization that requires 100% commitment in a volunteer position both at the assistant and head coaching levels for ages ranging from 7 to 18. We have the tools, software, equipment and program, what we need is YOU! If you are male or female who is genuinely interested in bettering the sport of travel softball, come and check us out! Former High School, Travel and Collegiate Players are especially encouraged to apply, regardless of age!
Our program has netted 21 USA, ISA, TSFA and USSSA Tennessee State and 9 national/world series titles! In 2021, we have already won 3 Tennessee State Championships and 1 Runner-up thus far! Should you elect to work with older players, we have a complete college recruiting program that will allow you to assist your players in playing at the collegiate level. Our program has placed 31 players in the past 5 years to 17 different schools in 7 states. It works, all we need is YOU!
Come and be part of our family! Applicants are being accepted now for immediate coaching needs on our 11 teams and those additional teams being planned for Fall 2021. You must be able to pass a National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI) background check and complete a Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) training program. Both of these activities will be paid by the Knoxville Softball Fastpitch Organization. These are volunteer, non-paid positions; however, travel expenses for our non-parent coaches will be covered by the team you coach!

Explosion X Runs the Table to Win the 10u A Bracket of ISA Tennessee State Championship PDF Print E-mail

Atomic Boom! Congratulations to the Explosion X who won the A Bracket of the ISA Tennessee State Championship held in Cleveland, TN 6/12/21-6/13/21! After dropping the 2nd game of bracket play to Team Tennessee X 10-1, the Explosion X ran the table matching them against Team Tennessee X in the championship game. After beating them 4-2, it forced an "If" game which the Explosion bested Team Tennessee X 16-5. Outstanding job Team Tennessee X and Explosion X! We are extremely proud of your efforts. This victory is the 3rd State Championship of the 2021 Season for the Knoxville Explosion Organization!

The '09 Explosion battled the '08 Atlanta Premier Gold and eventually lost 12-0 in the championship! Awesome job on your victory AP Gold. We are extremely proud of the '09 Explosion for making the championship as an 11u team! The future is bright with this bunch of special players! Congratulations ladies! Atomic Boom! Congratulations to the '08 Explosion who won the 12u ISA B Bracket Tennessee State Championship in Cleveland, TN on 6/13/21! After dropping close games in pool, the '08 Explosion caught fire and ran the table to win both the Championship and "if" game over the 12u Concord Stars to claim the tournament championship. We are extremely impressed and proud of your efforts Explosion and Stars, enjoy your tournament rings!
